Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976
in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her parents.
Sarah is the middle child. She has one older sister, Natasha Chalke and one
younger sister, Piper Chalke. Sarah began her acting career with City Boy
(1992), a made for television movie. After her first film she auditioned for
the role as Becky on Roseanne (1988) in 1993. The show was in search of an
alternative to Alicia Goranson, who left the show in order to attend studies at
college. Sarah graduated from high school in 1995 and was involved in the
making of Roseanne (1988) from 1994 to 1995. In 1994, Sarah starred alongside
Jim Varney in Ernest Goes to School (1994). She also appeared in Robin of
Locksley (1996) and Stand against Fear(1996). In both films she played the part
of Krista Wilson and was an athlete. Sarah was asked to be a part in a show
from 1998 called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy. The show was released one year
after Roseanne (1988). The show was based off the TV movie with the same name
which was called Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) that Sarah was also a
part of. She replaced Becky's (1988) role from Alicia Goranson. She announced
that she was planning to end her acting career and attend college. [2001]
(1993-1997) Actress who played the as the older sister of Sara Gilbert on
Roseanne (1988), but is actually younger. Attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony
and was awarded an award for the top single of 1999. (September, 1999) At age 8
appeared in Vancouver stage productions. Fluent in French and German. She is a
volunteer for hospices that provide care to seriously ill children. In her
spare time, Chalke prefers cooking with friends (especially Thai and sushi)
playing guitar or hiking, ski (she's an instructor), snowboarding, kayaking and
reading. Her father is a lawyer, as are both her parents are mediators who also
manage a child adoption company. She accompanied her parents to China two years
ago to help coordinate the adoptions of orphans.
