Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born on 3 May 1986. She studied at the Cours Florent drama academy in Paris. Her role includes Loup (2009) as well as Sleepless Night (2011). She plays the role of Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was the daughter of two parents: a Korean mother, as well as a father who was French-Russian. Her father was a consul of Quebec City, Canada. Eugene Klementieff, a painter was her grandpa. The name was chosen by her parents "Pom" due to the fact that it's similar in pronunciation to Korean words for both "spring" as well as "tiger". Klementieff resided in Canada for a year prior to her family traveled extensively because of her father's job. After the move to France she resided in Japan. Klementieff lost her father to cancer at age five. Her mother was also diagnosed with schizophrenia. Klementieff was raised in France by her aunt and paternal uncle. Her uncle, who she called "like her father" died when she was age 18. Her brother, who was older, who committed suicide seven years later, was also her aunt. Klementieff was able to pursue law school after the passing of her uncle. However, she was not able to find this job path appealing. In France she was employed as a salesperson and waitress. She began acting when was 19years old at the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. It was only three months into studying when she was awarded the competition to be a part of the theater that provided her two years of class with some of the most renowned teachers in the school. Klementieff was the first person to perform professionally in the independent French film Apres lui (2007). She played the role of the stepdaughter for the main character Catherine Deneuve. The shooting of the scenes took three days. In one scene, Klementieff was pushing someone down a set steps, but she fell. Gael Morel saved that scene for the film that was to be released. Loup (2009) is an French film about Siberian reindeer herders, was her debut significant role. The filming took place in a tent, a long way away from the nearest village where temperatures dropped to below zero
