Milena Govich

Milena Govich is an actress as well as a director and musician. She has directed numerous episodes of TV such as Chicago Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She was also the Co-EP/Producing Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and has been tapped to direct two pilots that are in development. Milena was one of eight women selected for AFI’s prestigious Directing Workshop for Women. She also participated in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors program. Her short film and TV series proof-of-concept called Unspeakable which starred Laura Vandervoort and Jeff Kober It featured its World Premiere at SXSW and won the Best Episodic Award at Seattle International Film Festival and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. The film she made in the short form Temporary (2017, by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also given out at Sedona International Film Festival. Milena was an actor for more than 100 television shows. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) was her debut on CBS. She later became the first and only female detective in Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders (2010)(CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) [ABC Family] as well as Lori Stevens (MTV Drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in numerous movies which include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) as a co-star with Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) which starred opposite Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Milena, a native of Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she completed two majors in vocal performance and a premedical degree at the University of Central Oklahoma. She was also named valedictorian. Then, she used her ballet education to take part in a show on Broadway in the Rob Marshall/Sam Mendes production "Cabaret" in Studio 54.
