Ayelet Zurer
Ayelet Zurer one of Israel's best
well-known actresses is a very special woman. Born in Tel Aviv in 1967, she
first gained the attention of Hollywood when she was chosen to play the role of
Eric Bana's wife on the Oscar(r), nominated movie Munich (2005). Since moving
to the United States, Zurer has starred in Studio films, including Sony
Pictures' Vantage Point featuring Dennis Quaid and William Hurt as well as
Samuel Goldwyn's Fugitive Pieces opposite Stephen Dillane, Paul Schrader's Adam
Resurrected alongside Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron Howard's Angeles and
Demons opposite Tom Hanks. Darling Companion is an ensemble of Lawrence Kasdan
which features Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline. Warner Bros. Man Of Steel with
Russell Crow. Ewan McGregor filmed Rodrigo Garcia, Last Days in the Desert. She
also was waiting for the release of The Last Knights, a film directed by
Kazuaki Kiriya, starring Clive Owen. Recently, she won the Gold Nymph Award for
Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series at the 54th festival of television of
Monte-Carlo, for her performance in the show "Hostages". Ayelet
received an Israeli Film And Television Academy Award for her performance as
Nina in the Tragedies. Ayelet also won nominations for her performance in the
features Only Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Apple Field, Desperado,
and Rutenberg. Zurer was the winner of the Haifa International Film Festival
critic prize , and was awarded a star on Haifa’s "film boulevard" for
her international and local accomplishments. Zurer also won the Israeli
Television Academy Award for her leading role in "In Treatment," a
highly acclaimed television series that has been adapted by HBO for American
television. 2014 saw her being nominated for an apposite for the best drama of
the year "Shtisel". She was also awarded the best actress award in
drama for her role as an outstanding surgeon confronted with a life or death
choice in Hostages. This show was broadcast to BBC4 and Canal Plus as well as
the American ABC. She is the "face " of one of Israel's top women's
fashion brands- Golbary. She is a producer, a artist, writer and the
illustrator of two adult books, "Shorts" and the top-selling
"Badolina" by Gabi Nitazn. Ayelet has been working on a several of
her own ideas in Israel as well as the US she has expressed the desire to
collaborate with directors from across the globe and believes in collaborating
with unknown writers/directors as well as known ones.
