Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora is a British music producer and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari), and Besnik Sahatciu. She is the daughter of director Besim Sahatciu. At the age of one, her family took the decision to relocate to England. She was raised in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing at a young stage of her life. In 2004, she was a part of the British movie Spivs. She was selected to audition for Eurovision The Country That Needs You as a British participant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she was unable to participate in the competition after only a couple of episodes as she didn't feel ready. Ora released her first single in 2007, when she appeared on Craig David’s song entitled "Awkward" which was followed by a follow-up appearance on "Where’s Your Love" with TinchyStryder. Ora began performing in bars throughout London. Roc Nation was alerted by an A&R regarding Ora in 2009, just days after Ora was on her way to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora appeared in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was awestruck by Ora and then sat down to sign her to Roc Nation. She was included in a commercial starring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing in the same bar where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her character. She also cites her father Besnik who was a pub's owner. A friend of Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
