Jacqueline Fernandez (born 11 August 1985) is a Sri Lankan actress, former model and the winner of the Miss Universe Sri Lanka pageant of 2006 . She primarily appears in Hindi films. Jacqueline Fernandez was raised in multi-ethnic families and was born in Manama (Bahrain) on 11 August 1985. Her father, Elroy Fernandez from Sri Lanka is a Burgher. Kim Fernandez is of Malaysian descent as well as Canadian descent. Her maternal grandfather is Canadian and her paternal great-grandparents are from Goa in India. Fernandez was featured in a music video for "O Sathi" which was a song performed by the music duo Bathiya and Santhush. Fernandez visited India in 2009 to take on modeling assignments. Fernandez was a successful audition for Sujoy Ghosh's film Aladin (2009), her first role as an actor. She played Riteish Deshmukh’s love interest, that is based on Princess Jasmine's character. In 2017, Fernandez made a bet of Rs35 million (US$490,000) in Rakyan Beverages' Raw Pressery. Fernandez was ranked 12th on the UK magazine Eastern Eye’s "World's Sexiest Asian Women" list in the years 2008 and 2011. She was ranked third on the Times of India's listing of the "Most Desirable Woman" in 2013 and 2014, after being placed eighth, seventh, and fourteenth, respectively, during the preceding three years. In 2013, Rediff.com placed her on their list of "Bollywood's Best Dressed Actresses. The company claim that with this investment, Fernandez became India's first celebrity to part-finance an enterprise that sells consumer goods.
