Amanda Tapping Biography

Amanda Tapping, an English-born Canadian actress. Her most well-known role is her role as Samantha Carter in the Canadian-American television show of military science fiction Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. Also, she starred as Helen Magnus in the science fantasy-fiction television show Sanctuary.Born in Rochford, Essex, England, Tapping moved with her family to Ontario, Canada, when she was just three years old. North Toronto Collegiate Institute was where she excelled in the field of Drama and Environmental Science. When she graduated in 1984, Tapping decided to concentrate on her studies in Drama. She attended the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts. She was also a part of various stage productions. Tapping appeared in a range of commercials for television and also played a variety of parts in TV and film productions such The Outer Limits. She also formed an ensemble of comedians known as known as the "Random Acts" along with her co-stars Katherine Jackson and Anne Marie Kerr, in Toronto in the 1990s.
