Amanda Blake, born Beverly Louise Neill on February 20, 1929 and died on August 16, 1989. She is an American actress most well-known for her role as Miss Kitty Russell, a red-haired saloon owner in the film Gunsmoke. Amanda Blake first appeared onscreen in the 1950 film 'Stars In My Crown'. She was also in the films 'Duchess of Idaho" and "Counterspy Meets Scotland Yard" that year. Then, she was featured in the drama "Schlitz Playhouse of the Stars.. In 1953, the American actress had the opportunity to act in the films 'Lili' and 'Sabre Jet'. The following year she did some films, including "Miss Robin Crusoe, "About Mrs. Leslie', 'A Star Is Born' and 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba'. Amanda Blake was born Beverly Louise Neill on February 20, 1929 in Buffalo, New York. Her parents were Jesse and Louise. She attended Claremont High School and Pomona College. In the year 1954, the actress was married to Don Whitman. Blake married Jason Day in 1964, after the couple divorced in the following year. After splitting from Jason Day also, the American beauty got married to Frank Gilbert in 1967. Unfortunately, her relationship to her third husband was short-lived. Then in 1984, she married Mark Spaeth and a year later, he died. A heavy chain-smoker, Amanda Blake was diagnosed with oral cancer in 1977. She underwent surgery to treat the cancer. She passed away on the 16th of August 1989, in the Mercy General Hospital of California at the age of 60.
